Historically, the
art of painting has been structured around representing natures forms.
The principles of art that we know have been shaped to fit this
structure. In the last
century especially the 1950’s a group of artists explored the belief
that shape, color and texture have value in themselves and when merged,
create a different kind of visual energy;
an energy generating motion, time and space.
A visual excitement that cannot be easily resolved or explained
with a viewers retained natural images.
It requires mining intellectual depths and the psyche for a
reward that once found is uniquely personal.
